Over the last ten years Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery has established a national reputation for its innovative programming and outreach work across the visual arts, crafts and design.

It curates exhibitions in its own space and organises shows that tour nationally.

West Stow

West Stow boasts a remarkable reconstruction of six Anglo-Saxon buildings on their original site, built using tools and techniques from the period. The Anglo-Saxon Centre includes an fascinating display of archeological finds from local Saxon sites.

Special events and re-enactments bring the village to life during holiday periods year. The 125 acre park and heathland nature reserve surrounding it is rich in wildlife and excellent for bird-watching, with a nature trail woods, river, lake and bird hides.

Art Gallery

This is the place to see great new work and fresh ideas by artists and designers from Britain and abroad, to share ideas, extend your art collection and to take part in a wide range of workshops and social events.

The Gallery is an educational charity which promotes the best contemporary art, craft and design from Britain and abroad and supports artists working in Suffolk. It achieves this through exhibitions, the Craft Shop, projects with artists, publications and educational and marketing activities.
