Spring is here … well almost

We are probably jumping the gun a little, and we don’t want to jinx anything, however the sun is out, blue sky, it's fairly warm outside, and there are definitely some early signs that Spring is finally here. Yippee!

For instance:

Our marsh marigolds, snowdrops, daffs, bluebells, daisies and crocuses are all bursting out. If you don’t believe us, look at the pics below!

Our shrubs and trees are also budding including the willows, alders, apples, cherries, beeches, magnolias, photinias and horse chestnuts.

The most forward of the mallards are already getting ‘friendly’ and today we found a mallard egg, unfortunately it had been robbed from the nest and eaten by something, but it’s a start.

We have even seen a few carp catching some rays up on the surface of Main Lake.
