Spring in the air!

Spring in the air!

We always think that Spring is finally here when the marsh marigolds come out in their magnificent yellow blooms. They grow right in the margins of our lakes at Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges, and a few days ago they suddenly burst into life. 

The daffodils are still fabulous, and the bluebells are on their way too. Sadly the snowdrops (of which we had loads this year) are now over, but we do have periwinkles to give a dash of colour. 

Other signs that Spring is definitely here are the “greening” of our willows, magnolias showing off, hawthorn blossom out, and inevitably the mallard drakes pursuing the ducks all over the lakes. 

Before long our reeds will start growing, the trees will come into leaf, and the fruit trees will be in blossom, and from there it will be a short hop into Summer. But Spring is our favourite time as the flora and fauna starts to come to life after its long slumber; come and see it for yourself - we can’t wait to welcome you!
