Welcome to ... Damsel Shepherds Hut

Posted 03/06/2021 : By: Will & Sarah Draper

We are proud to introduce Damsel, our new Shepherds Hut. Damsel is being delivered in the next couple of weeks and will be available for bookings from July 2nd 2021. We will be able to take your bookings via our website and phone from Thursday this week (June 3rd).

Damsel is a warm cosy Poachers Hut, 18ft x 8.5ft, built for us by the English Shepherds Hut Company who are based locally in Norfolk and make exceptional huts. Damsel is smaller than our four Scandinavian log cabins, but it is perfectly formed; it sleeps two in luxury, and is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, or some downtime from daily life.

Damsel is beautifully appointed inside, with a snug 4ft x 6ft double cabin bed, smart TV and DVD player, compact but full kitchen, separate bathroom with copper wash basin and hot shower, a ‘Hobbit’ wood burning stove, and a powerful electric heater for colder evenings. There are lots of double glazed windows creating a lovely sense of natural light. The double French-style patio doors open out onto a large 18ft x 10ft private wooden deck complete with table and chairs with parasol, Weber gas BBQ, and of course a hot tub. The tub - along with our other tubs - is supplied from the Tub Company and boasts massage jets, headrests, and even LED lighting.

Damsel is situated by Mill Pond on its own area of land that separates Mill Pond from Kingfisher Lake. It is nestled amongst trees and shrubs, hidden from the other lodges, which are around Main Lake. There is fishing right next to the hut in Mill Pond, and of course guests are also welcome to fish in Main Lake just a 5 minute walk away. Alternatively guests may choose to just sit and relax in wonderful seclusion and enjoy the nature all around.

Damsel Shepherds Hut comes with exactly the same level of exceptional service that Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges is known for. This includes the sumptuous welcome hamper with champagne and sausages and bacon from our local butcher, hand-made chocs on your pillow, fresh cotton towels and linen, luxury toiletries, slippers, robes and even fleeces to keep you warm when outside in the evening. Here are a few photos of Damsel as it approaches completion:
